Seedlings III: Autumn (Paperback)

£15.00

Seedlings is a series that follows the path of the year, returning us to the rhythms of nature. Opening with Johnny Flynn and Robert Macfarlane’s ‘Ferryman’, Seedlings III: Autumn explores how we relate to our planet in the autumn of 2024. The work of over sixty artists fills this rich collection of stories, art, essays, poetry, and song.

Autumn is a season where the heaviness of summer — its rushing energy and its sultry long evenings — falls. We are left with the ageing year’s detritus and as artists we reflect on what harvest we have to see us through the solitude of winter. Seedlings III: Autumn features over 20 typeset and handprinted poems, recipes, songs, essays, photography, paintings and more. Highlights include the menu of an equinox mushroom banquet with Paul Stamets by Chippy Grant, reflections on life through a train carriage window from Alex Haydn-Williams.

Bound by Seedlings at the London Centre for Book Arts in August-November 2024. Paperback edition printed with a mix of risograph and digital methods.

Text and art printed on G.F. Smith accent recycled paper, parch marque and Ingres paper. The cover is made of post-consumer fibres and sustainable raw materials, with 90% of the water used returned to source at the Neenah Mill on the Fox River, Wisconsin. Cover and illustration designs by Corran Green. Handmade paper frontispiece by Giove Pereira.
